Ephrata Furniture (Pty) Ltd (“Ephrata Furniture,” “we,” “us”) is a supplier of high-quality home, office, and outdoor furniture, either manufactured by or sourced through us. These terms and conditions govern all purchases made from Ephrata Furniture. By purchasing from us, you (“the Customer”) agree to be bound by the terms outlined below.
2.1 All prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
2.2 Full payment is required prior to the dispatch or collection of goods, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
2.3 Ownership of all products remains with Ephrata Furniture until full payment is received.
3.1 Delivery charges, if applicable, will be quoted at the time of purchase and are the responsibility of the Customer.
3.2 Ephrata Furniture does not bear the cost of return transport for repairs, replacements, or inspections—whether under warranty or not—unless explicitly agreed in writing.
3.3 Customers must ensure the safe and secure delivery of goods to our premises for any warranty or repair-related services.
4.1 Warranty Coverage: Ephrata Furniture provides a one-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in manufacturing and workmanship under normal domestic use.
4.2 Free Repairs: Where a valid claim exists, Ephrata Furniture will repair the product at no cost. However, the Customer is responsible for returning the product to our workshop.
4.3 Exclusions: The warranty excludes damage resulting from misuse, neglect, incorrect assembly, unauthorised modifications, or commercial use.
4.4 Customers must provide proof of purchase (e.g., invoice or receipt) to initiate a warranty claim.
4.5 Repair Process: All repairs will take place at our designated workshop. Transport arrangements and associated costs fall to the Customer.
5.1 In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Act No. 68 of 2008, Customers are entitled to return defective, unsafe, or unfit-for-purpose goods within 6 months of purchase, subject to inspection.
5.2 Return of non-defective products will be considered at the sole discretion of Ephrata Furniture and may incur a restocking fee.
5.3 Approved refunds will be processed within 14 working days, exclusive of delivery or collection charges.
6.1 Customers are advised to inspect all items upon delivery and report visible damages or defects within 7 days.
6.2 It is the Customer’s responsibility to adhere to care instructions provided with each item to maintain product integrity and uphold warranty rights.
7.1 Any disputes arising from transactions with Ephrata Furniture should first be addressed through direct communication.
7.2 If unresolved, disputes may be escalated to the Furniture & Home Improvement Ombudsman or another recognised mediation body, in line with South African consumer laws.
8.1 Ephrata Furniture reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of changes where applicable.
8.2 These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
